When was the last time you upgraded your kids mattress? What bed frame is the mattress sat on? All crucial to help them get a great night's sleep.

We’re going to apologise now for mentioning the ‘S’ word this early on in the holidays. But we’re just going to have to say it and get it over with – School. Already the shops are full of school uniform offers and stationary supplies at every turn.

The school holidays have only just begun for many, and it’s safe to say the kids certainly aren’t thinking about September and returning to the classroom just yet. Perhaps some of you parents have already had a quick calculation of how many weeks you’ve got left to think of fun things to keep the kids entertained.

Either way, before September rolls back around it’s worth thinking about your kid’s beds. When was the last time you upgraded their mattress? What bed frame is the mattress sat on?

Making sure they have a quality mattress and bed frame will give them the best chance of getting a good night’s sleep and setting them up for the new school year. There have been countless studies proving that getting a good night’s sleep is vital for kids. To thrive academically kids of all ages need energy and the ability to focus and concentrate in the classroom. Skills which depend heavily on getting a consistently good night’s sleep.

Sleepiness can make concentrating in the classroom extremely difficult. We know as adults that if we get a bad night’s sleep how that impacts us the next day. How many of you have had a disturbed night’s sleep and then been in a foul mood all the next day? A bad night’s sleep affects your mood no matter how old you are.

Studies have shown that kids who are sleepy during the day are more likely to experience problems learning and paying attention in the classroom.

With a good night-time routine and a quality mattress and bed frame you can make sure your kids get a good night’s sleep and are ready for all the new school year has to offer.

We can’t stress how important it is to invest in a quality mattress for your kids. It’s no good thinking a cheap mattress will ‘do for now’. Suddenly you’ll have a teenager with a 10 year old lumpy, saggy, uncomfortable mattress!

We have a wide range of quality mattresses to choose from here at Bed Guru and if you need any help finding the right one then please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we can advise you.

Here are a few of our mattress range that we would recommend for youngsters. It’s also worth considering the base you will be putting the mattress on. For example if you are buying a mattress to sit on a bunk bed frame then think about the depth of the mattress to ensure it doesn’t come above the safety rails. Again if you aren’t sure we are more than happy to help – just give us a call or use our live chat feature.

Our Body Comfort Deluxe Mattress is a great option. Reasonably priced at £149 for a single mattress. The Body Comfort Deluxe delivers a high density reflex foam for strong support and provides a medium feel. Both of our daughters actually had the Body Comfort Deluxe and enjoyed undisturbed sleep for years!

Another great mattress is our Bed Guru Memory Foam Kids Rolled Mattress which is made up of five inches of reflex foam with a layer of memory foam on top to give great support. The top memory foam layer is made from a specially developed extra soft material for instant relaxation. Dust mite resistant so ideal if your little one suffers from any allergies. The soft knit cover can also be removed for washing a big thumbs up from parents! Our rolled mattress range is available for free next day delivery if you order before 11 am. Currently in our sale at just £109 what are waiting for?

Finally our Pocket Sprung Deluxe Mattress which has individual pocket springs for a gentle feel. The individual springs mean the mattress contours to the body. With a traditional damask finish and soft fibre comfort layer the Pocket Sprung Deluxe combines great support and comfort.

Like we said if you need any help or advice when it comes to finding the right mattress for your kids then please don’t hesitate to ask!

Come back next week where we’ll be talking all about our Bed Guru kid’s bed frames…
