Bed Guru Sports Sleepers

With a summer of sport already underway, here at Bed Guru we're looking at how much sleep some of our favourite sports stars need.

Sports stars are some of the most sleep-deprived people in the world due to their new stop commitment to the sport they love. In reality, they're the ones that need their beds more than the rest of us so they are fully recovered and ready to go for their next competitive event. Sports stars like Lewis Hamilton only find themselves with, on average, 4 hours sleep a night. But who spends longer tucked under their duvet? Find out below.

Unsurprisingly, many of these athletes get more than the recommended amount but based on the amount of exercise that they do you would believe it to be much higher. For the likes of Usain Bolt who only takes an extra hour to the standard but looking at the likes of Lewis and Serena, you’d be shocked that they sleep so little when they're so active. This is actually because it is more reliant on the quality of the sleep you get and not just the duration. If you only manage to get into stage 1 or 2 for the whole of your rest then you will not recover as well as the people who enter REM sleep for a shorter amount of time.

This is why a quality mattress is essential for your sleep and recovery and enthused by sportsmen and women all over the globe.

Here at Bed Guru, we’ve got a wide variety of high-quality beds and mattresses for you to choose from to help you get the best night's sleep possible.
