Keeping warm with our IndyBest rated duvet this Winter!

Wrap up with our IndyBest award winning duvet, and spread the warmth throughout your home with our toasty roasty tips for this Winter.

Feeling pride in something you did is one thing, but it becomes more exciting when other people love it just as much as you do! The kind people over at IndyBest tried, tested, and loved our Custom Hotel Dacron Comforel Duvet, and rated it as their top choice in ‘best [duvet] for unusual bed sizes’!

We were impressed by how well it kept its shape too, looking plump each morning even when we’d hastily pulled up the duvet rather than making the bed properly (don’t judge us). It also went down a treat with our allergy suffering tester who slept well under it.

If the average person keeps their duvet for 5 years, make sure it’s an Independent rated one. Find out for yourself why our duvet was scored an incredible 9/10!

Escaping the harsh nip of the Winter chill

It’s recently been reported that there’s a UK energy crisis whereby the cost of heating your home this Winter is expected to skyrocket. If you’re anything like us, you’re not one to willingly put on the central heating until you can see your breath. However, being strict with the heating comes at a price because nobody enjoys waking up to a freezing cold home. We're sharing with you the best ways to feel the inner warmth we crave without costing an arm and a leg.

As the days get darker, shorter, and colder, the prospect of tearing ourselves away from our toasty bed feels like a living nightmare. Escape the stinging nip of the Winter chill, and store your favourite pair of woolly socks and slippers in the secret storage drawers of your bed, and hang your dressing gown on the back of your door. Whilst it may seem counter-productive to keep your dressing gown so far out of reach, the desire to wrap up will help get you out of bed in the morning. As soon as you’ve acclimatised, make a b-line for the kettle and pour yourself a hot cup of tea or coffee to quickly warm your insides, and wake your brain up.

Eating ‘foods that take longer to digest can help raise your body temperature and make you feel warmer. The medical term for this process is thermogenesis, which is the process of your body producing heat caused by food metabolizing. Look for food that’s high in healthy fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. Many of these foods are more complex and take longer to digest’. Include more oats, red meat, sweet potatoes, bananas, caffeine into your diet to feel the benefits.

During the mornings and evenings, draw your curtains closed and place draft excluders in front of your doors to trap in the warm air, and stop cold air from coming in. Of course, all of this isn’t to say you can never have your central heating on, because there is nothing that quite compares to a warm home. But, it’s good to save money where we can!

What are you waiting for?

After a long day of running around being an adult, there’s no more comforting feeling than knowing you’ll be tucked back up in bed soon. Both we at Bed Guru and the kind people at IndyBest can assure you that our duvet is ‘plush to sleep under’, and combined with the matching Hotel Dacron Comforel Pillows and any one of our extensively tested, supportive mattresses, you’ll wonder why you didn’t make the switch sooner.
