Sometimes, making the most of small spaces can be difficult, particularly when it comes to buying a bed.

Beds take up a lot of space, so you have to try and find a small bed that’s perfect for your small space. We’ve put together a list of the best small beds, so you can make the most out of every inch of your bedroom.

Small beds for single adults

Single Beds

The most obvious choice is the ever-reliable single bed. Perfect for those who sleep by themselves as it doesn’t compromise any of the space you have. Standard UK single beds measure in at 90cm in width and 190cm in length, so they’ll fit nicely in the corner of your bedroom.

There’s a single bed to suit all styles. Whether you’re looking for a wooden frame or metal frame, you’re covered. Tip: Pick light colours for the bedding to make your bedroom feel larger.

Single Guest Beds

Having guests stay at your house can be a daunting experience and it’s inevitable you’ll have a guest staying over at some point. The last thing you (or they want) is for them to be sleeping on the floor. Single guest beds take up the same space as a single bed but they also have a pullout bed underneath.

So, when you don’t have a guest staying over, none of the space will be compromised. However, when you do have a guest over, you can simply side the bed out and they have somewhere comfy to stay.

Small beds for couples

Small Double Beds

If you have a little bit more space to play with then it’s worth measuring to see if you have space for a small double bed. They’re slightly bigger than a single bed but slightly smaller than a double bed, measuring 120cm in width and 190cm in length.

Small double beds give you that little bit of extra wiggle room. If you’re a couple, then you’re gonna need to room to breathe and a single bed simply won’t do. Sometimes space can be at a premium, so if you’re happy to get a little closer at night, then a small double bed may be your answer. You have space in your bed but also space left in your bedroom.

Double Bed

Everyone loves the idea of a king size bed but sometimes it's just not practical. Double beds are the next best thing, you get more room than a small double but your space isn’t overly compromised.

Our double beds with storage underneath give you the complete solution. Not only do you get a roomy bed, but you also get somewhere to store bedding and heavy clothing. Double beds measure 135cm in width and 190cm in length, so make sure you have enough room before committing. The last thing you want is to be clinging to the walls to walk around your room!

Cabin beds

Cabin beds are the ideal solution for a kids bedroom. Not only do you get a cosy bed they'll love, but you also get a place to keep their room neat and tidy. Clutter can make a small room feel even smaller and kids rooms can very quickly become untidy.

With cabin beds, you get a single bed and a wide variety of storage options. Some come with desk space and a play area, whereas others come with extra drawers and storage shelves. Some even come with an additional bed in case they’re having a sleepover with their friend! They come in one unit, as you can see in our Verona cabin bed below that comes complete with pullout bed and drawers.

Bunk beds

In smaller houses, kids often need to share a room. The bedroom might be limited for space and this is where bunk beds come into their own. A bunk bed consists of two beds, one on top of the other. The benefits are you get two full-size UK single beds with the footprint of one.

If you’re looking for a solution for a small bedroom shared by two children then look no further than a bunk bed. Some designs come with one single and a double bed, whereas others come with two singles. It all depends on your needs and the space you have available. Not only are they convenient, but they also look great and come in a wide range of designs including wooden and metal bed frames. Some even come with storage to give the little ones more space to play.
